2011 Pagani Huayra Feature

The Huayra is Pagani's second supercar after the successful Zonda. With a similar design, it uses a V12 engine from Mercedes and benefits from Pagani's carbon fiber manufacturing expertise.

Pagani completely overhauled their manufacturing process in preparation for the Huayra. It uses a different type of construction that makes extensive use of titanium throughout the frame and suspension. Pagani says that many of the techniques developed for the Zonda R track supercar were used in the construction of the Huayra .

In the 1980s, Horatio Pagani was one of the first in Italy to use carbon fiber in production cars and has been perfecting the use of this material ever since.

A special carbon fiber with titanium band was created for the Huayra , which was already used for the last Zonda. The advantage is that it adds extra strength to the carbon fiber without losing weight. This "carbon-titanium" is used for the new Huayra monocoque .

Midship is a custom V12 engine developed by the Mercedes-Benz AMG subsidiary. With a working volume of less than six liters, it is equipped with two turbochargers, which reach more than 700 horsepower. The created pair is even more impressive. more than 1000 Nm. This power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a double clutch and a seven-speed transverse sequential gearbox. The complete gearbox, designed with XTrac, weighs just 96kg.

We will be attentive to the official images and data in the coming weeks. At this point, your guess is as good as ours when it comes to horsepower, 0-60 time, and interior trim, but since this car replaces the Zonda, we expect nothing less than mind-blowing numbers:
