New Renault Wind 2011,Photos And Review

In Europe, there is a need for a small convertible capable of functioning as an everyday car for drivers and couples without children. Renault saw no reason for freedom in the automatic wind farm sector to be exclusive to the premium class. Instead, buyers are fairly young (or young at heart), interested in sporty, sporty roadsters, and looking for a model that is attractive and practical enough to serve as an everyday car.

To meet this need, it is necessary to create a coupe-roadster with a unique design and impressive sportiness, without sacrificing the qualities that go hand in hand with a real sense of freedom;
  • Powerful, intelligent and easy to use sunroof mechanisms deliver real thrills,
  • A very practical vehicle, suitable whether the trunk is up or down,
  • Compact dimensions and maneuverability are ideal for city and rough terrain trips.
  • Fun and powerful dynamics with low fuel consumption,
  • Low driving position and sporty driving style,
  • Exceptional performance and packaging sophistication for the price.
For this type of car, appearance is an important factor when making a purchase decision. Therefore, to conquer the market, the design of the Renault Wind had to be dynamic, powerful and resolutely modern. Seen from the side, the sporty Renault Wind immediately catches the eye with its clean lines, pointed hood, high waist, wide hips and full tyres. Both roofs feature roadster features housed in the headliner, creating a natural connection between interior and exterior.

Sitting in the forward position, the work on the windshield rail is much greater than that of the convertible competitor, adding to the fun of auto-opening and then becoming the Renault Wind-Roadster's main conviction. The rear wing features a distinctive tailgate, while boomerang-shaped taillights provide easily recognizable lighting.

The know-how of Renault Sport Technologies (RST) is no longer used in terms of driving pleasure and Renault Wind benefits greatly from the know-how of RST engineers. Employees at RST's technical headquarters in Les Houlis, France, near Paris, work together with teams from the adjacent Gaiancourt Technocenter to ensure Renault Wind can take full advantage of the best in its class. The new coupe-roadster platform capitalizes on the strengths of the two Clio RSs in perfect harmony with the two existing Renault Wind engines, the TCE 100 and 1.6 16V 133 hp. The result of RST's engineering expertise is the best weight-to-body rigidity ratio for a coupe roadster, and Renault Wind allows owners to enjoy a comfortable ride with low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

This powertrain delivers not only fuel economy in engine size, but also powerful 1.4-liter power and a high-torque 1.4-liter powertrain. It is equipped with a low inertia engine that guarantees minimal turbo lag thanks to the installation of a turbine and a small diameter compressor. The maximum power is 100 hp. (74 kW) at 5500 rpm, and the maximum torque is 152 Nm (3500 rpm).

The combination of TCE 100cc small displacement, low inertia turbines provides fast intake from low rpm with maximum torque available over a wide range of engine speeds and speeds. This includes the Turbo Boost function, which temporarily increases power and torque in second, third and fourth gears (by 5 hp and 6 Nm respectively) when the engine speed exceeds 4500 rpm. For more character, power and responsiveness, the TCE 100 engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission (JH3).

The TCE 100's small engine size and combination of technologies are used for maximum driving pleasure, but combined fuel consumption is only 6.3 l/100 km (145 g CO2/km equivalent). Renault Wind TCE accelerates from 100 km/h to 100 km/h in just 10.5 seconds. 1.6 16V 133 HP Naturally aspirated engine with Flexbag markings

The Renault Wind is an alternative to the 1.6-litre 16-volt normal voltage engine developed by Renault Sport Technologies, in particular as it serves as a direct indicator of its flammability.

This nimble, high-revving 1.6 16V naturally aspirated engine develops 133 hp. (98 kW) at 6750 rpm and a maximum torque of 160 Nm at 4400 rpm. It spins quickly and breaks until it redlines at 7000 rpm.

With the engine under the hood, Renault Wind is fun and enjoyable to drive at low revs and up to 4500 rpm, although it is really unique above 4500 rpm. The Wind Renault 1.6 16V accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 9.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 201 km/h while consuming 7 liters per 100 km (equivalent to CO2 emissions of 165 g/km). :

Plug & Music connectivity allows residents to connect digital devices such as iPod®, iPhone®, USB sticks and other USB compatible MP3 players to the Renault Wind audio system. This system allows passengers to enjoy music stored on a portable player and allows them to navigate menus using the controls on the steering column or radio instrument panel. The directory, file names and songs are displayed on a separate screen.
